Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in TV and film is well known for movies such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The actress was born as the sole son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16, Alexandra played the leading role in several dramas on television. Her critically acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominated films that feature models. Alexandra's career has seen her be involved in a variety of important national and international projects. Some of these include the British biographical film Control, the Greek movie The Dust of Time, and French historic miniseries Napoleon. She has also been an adjudicator at the Transylvania International Film Festival as and at the Cannes Film Festival.
