John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people through his songs of pop-folk Many of them were inspired by Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in affection with Colorado and eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's state anthems are a source of inspiration for numerous people to go to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever inductee. He has become the personification of Colorado for people all over. Through my travels I've encountered people from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform that you're from Colorado, the first words they'll use are Oh John Denver. Brown explained. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles after he performed with small folk music bands. It was co-written and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver recognized that the song could become a smash hit when he heard an earlier version. The track was released just two weeks following it was performed in Washington D.C. performance.
